The B.E.M-ISAD20 REV:A is a redesign of the B.E.M - ISAD20 RS-232C isolator with improved isolation properties (now tested at 15kV) and high baud rate range (now tested up to 125 kbaud). Other properties are unchanged.
Power is derived from the interface signals. The B.E.M-ISAD20 - REV:A is intended for simpleTxD / RxD connection (hardware handshake is not supported).
The B.E.M-ISAD20 - REV:A isolator is specifically designed to qualify for application in an IEC 601-1-1 system environment. For instance, to connect hi-tech equipment used in an operating room (safety class 3 environment). The standard model does not have metal parts that can be touched. The B.E.M-ISAD20 - REV:A is provided with 9-pin male plastic shell D connectors at both sides. Jumpers inside allow individual setting for DTE / DCE operation mode.
The B.E.M-ISAD20 - REV:A offers extreme low leakage currents and low coupling capacitance (<2pF). The device may operate with continuous voltage differences up to 2kV DC / 2.5kV AC (50-60Hz). Stress conditions are tested and guaranteed up to 15kV DC (10 sec,).
